Title: 2015 Project List
Post by: TubeGeek on January 02, 2015, 08:16:18 pm
What are you guys planning for this year?

First up for me is a Teletronix LA2A Opto Compressor and then a Pultec EQP-1A Equalizer.  In the middle of those projects (probably last all year)  I plan to build a Supro Model 24, Deluxe Reverb (single channel), and some sort of high gain monster amp (still determining which circuit to replicate).

I have to renovate my kitchen and I aint lookin forward to it  :sad2:
It's really gonna cut into my hobby time

.....  I plan to build a Supro Model 24, Deluxe Reverb (single channel), and some sort of high gain monster amp (still determining which circuit to replicate).
- Deluxe Reverb = make sure you check out sluckey's Tweed Deluxe Reverb and read the story all the way to the end where he reveals how he tweaked it to perfection with an upgraded OT and 6L6s....I built a variant, loved it, sold it, miss it.

- High gain monster amp = check out the Bogner Uberschall...there's a couple available schematics (not confirmed), here:
http://el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/bogner/Uberschall.pdf (http://el34world.com/charts/Schematics/files/bogner/Uberschall.pdf)
and here:
http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=14879.0 (http://el34world.com/Forum/index.php?topic=14879.0)

I used em both and made a tweaked version and it was a huge hit with the metal kids down at Guitar Center.
It's got a pretty unique 'tuned' NFB circuit which makes the presence control a secret weapon.....don't tell anyone

Have a great year and we all look forward to seeing what you come up with!

My list...

I have a predrilled princeton reverb chassis that is waiting for me to decide what to build cause I think it needs a little twist and not the stock version.

Then I'm planning to build some kind of a push-pull amp with GI-30 tube.

That reminds me…I have a backyard to landscape this next spring/summer. :cussing:

I am tossing around the thought of building an orange circuit for the high gain sound I am after.  I would like to have a sludgy, beefy, high gain amp for the times I really want to sound thick and chunky.  I've also thought of a Soldano replica. I hadn't thought of the Bogner but I do remember one of those on my bench ages ago. It was very nice too.  I have plenty of time to research this project down the road.

I need to work on my Leslie Model 16 too.  I think it works but I've never tried it because I am missing the footswitch for speed and on/off and the crossover.  It has been on my to do list for years

I need to Sluckey's AC 14 in a Head, as well as His Revibe. I need to put Hoffmans Stout back in the Combo Cab too. I want to build a set of full range folded speakers for my vintage stereo system I am putting together. As for a amp, I was still interested in a 5E9-A Tremulux or the Gibson version of it(The Iron I have from my Allen might work for the Gibson 5 watter tremono) but I have been looking at Sluckeys tweed deluxe reverb. Shoot I already printed everything out months ago, :BangHead:  to many things to build

Lots of sawdust and metal shavings for me.

Supro 1624T clone

Tweed Super clonish with a pentode for one of the channels

P Bass with a single coil neck,  jazz bridge pickup and a 4 way switch.

Some Fuzz pedals

Well, with a very busy Spring ahead of me (at the power plant), I can only tinker on some old amp repairs.

But off the amp topic:

Finish up an ongoing H-D Shovelhead project.

Clean my shop so that I can walk a straight line through it.

Possibly start back on my '42 H-D WLA, after many years away from it.

Build one more Varmint rifle (.17 Fireball).

Force myself to sell something.  I have no more room for anything.

Jack
