Ty-Rap is a name that stuck, just like Channel Lock, or Vise Grip. I still call all plastic cable ties "Ty-Raps". Most everyone I've worked around for the last 40 years knows what I'm talking about when I say "I need a bag of 4" Ty-Raps to finish this up."

I got a 4wheeler magazine when I had my jeeps, after securing all the broke body parts n wiring with ty-raps, I read in the magazine "ty-raps are NOT permanent repair parts!"

No lace but I do have my wire-rap tool, manual, lost the electric one.

YouTube about the development of the Ty-Rap(r).

It may be a lot of fancy video cross-fades.

About here (https://youtu.be/Z0kp7up823k?t=157) they show authentic cable-wrangling and then a very awkward attempt to lace.
