Title: 7591s
Post by: Toxophilite on March 02, 2015, 04:31:24 pm
I have a couple of pairs of 7591s kicking around
Cool tubes , small and powerful
I'm curious if they could be used in Ab763 deluxe build with the right socket rewiring and likely larger OPT?

use the super reverb PT with a 6600 ohm, 40-50W OT with ~~ -25V bias.

you could actually get away with 5k to 6.6k, although a 5k load on those little tubes might be a bit too much with 450V on the plates.

Thanks, that might be a good project

I also have a pair of 6CM6s kicking around which according to the data sheets are identical to 6V6Gts in a 9 pin bottle (obviously a different pinout)
Any one built an AB763 deluxe around these?
Might be a cool experiment and save me buying some more 6V6 GTs and installing new tube sockets on my 2nd AO-43

here's a link to the data sheet
