Question on orientation,(NOT that kind)... Sluckey, your PT, (plexi6V6 frontview), appears rectangular with copper foil along the "long" axis and your OT appears 90deg out, as it should be.  the ?, without taking end-bells off, is the foil a good indicator of how to place the OT? On Dougs, the PT looks to be square, no foil, (mine is a weber wbtgp that looks more like Sluckey's) so before I guess wrong....

For the Plexi6V6 I simply used the same orientation that the original AO-43 (donor) used. Something to consider is the fact that the transformers are already 90º to each other by the fact that one is a laydown style and the other is a standup style. Those Hammond OTs are shielded pretty good so I'm not convinced orientation with these particular transformers is that critical. The AO-44 uses the same OT as the AO-43, but it is oriented 90º to the way the AO-43 OT is oriented. Take a look...

Your situation may be different. You can always use the headphone test to rotate your OT for minimum hum.

Thanks, I was suspecting the laydown types were in a different "plane".  My builds "ideal" placement would be like your plexi 6v6, that way there's no hardware under the turret board.  I think I will plug in the PT and put on a sniffer, haven't used that method yet.
