Bought this loaded cab for next to nothing, I've been looking for a chassis that will fit, apparently the late 70s super reverbs are a bit wider than the blackface amps, which is the most common chassis for sale ie Mojo tone etc.
Anyone have a chassis that might fit? Or know where to find one? Old super or twin from the late 70s? I measured it to be 24.5 inches wide, the blackface amps are 23.75 I believe. Any help is appreciated

The obvious answer I guess is to find out (either by measuring an actual chassis of an amp you find or derive same from the external cabinet dimensions which amps would fit. Perhaps a Twin Reverb or Dual Showman would fit? There's ALWAYS a Fender chassis for sale on ebay, you just have to know the dimensions and decide whether you would accept a Twin Amp in there. That's assuming you would like to find such a chassis rather than to build an amp completely from scratch.

U might ask the guys at weber what the dims are for the 6A80 chassis. Did you see these on ebay

Well You're talking a 3/4" difference overall
I would just use the existing available chassis and make some 3/8" black spacers for either side

Thanks for the replies guys. I saw that one on ebay, the Mojo twins are the same size as well, slightly more expensive though. With those we're talking a 1/8 difference so it should work well, I doubt the mounting screws will line up though, that's why I wanted to exhaust all options first as far as finding the correct size goes, though it looks like I'll probably have to settle and do some modifications.
I was hoping to luck out with an old junk silverface with the same dimensions turning up. I'm in no rush, so I do have time to see if that deal may come along

mojo reproduction chassis will fit. ask doug to order one for you. same part at a better price.

In my experience, plugging and re-drilling the chassis strap bolt holes isn't too difficult. Can be touched up and look great. Thing I noticed, if going to make a super in a twin chassis there are some extra bottle holes and pot holes. Older ones do pop up occasionally if willing to wait. Might be what I would do for a while.

Which one would fit? The twin reverb? Or are you implying that they will make one to my specifications in this case?

The will not make one the correct size for you. Using a Chassis from a Twin will work well and give you a mid control on the normal channel. This will allow you to make to completely different channels. Then a Super Reverb faceplate will not fit.
I am currently facing the same problem with a 2, 10" cabinet. I am using the same strap and bolts with fender washers holding the chassis from the outside and filler strips on the sides. Very secure and I don't have to even remove the straps, just loosen and slide out.

the twin and super reverb have the same chassis dimensions. the differences are with the tube, pot holes, and transformers cutouts.
if you want a 100W super, then use the twin chassis. if you just want to clone the super reverb use the super chassis - mojo sells both, and doug can get either for you. if you use a twin chassis then you need to use a twin face plate or have one custom made. sorry for any confusion.

Well that's exactly why I started the thread because this super cab is bigger than a blackface super and the space for the chassis is wider now too, I'm sure it's because it's a late 70s super where there upped the wattage. The blackface twin appears to be the closest match in size as far as width is concerned, but I'd you go look on mojos website there is nearly an inch difference in width between the blackface super and the blackface twin
