Title: wiring of output transformer
Post by: kl2mcbride on March 19, 2015, 10:24:48 am
I'm curious if in a push pull power amp how important it is to have the primary xfmr windings connected to the right output phase of the phase iverter? Knowing that reversing them will invert the phase in the output windings. could someone ellaborate on this please Thankx Kevin (Wipe1out)

If there is no NFB loop involved it's not important. Proper phasing becomes very important when there is a NFB loop involved. Get the phase wrong and the feedback becomes positive and will likely turn the amp into an oscillator if the amount of feedback is sufficient.
