Title: Help with Arion Sch-1 Stereo Chorus repair
Post by: Twangmaster on May 13, 2015, 05:18:04 pm
Hi all!

I have my old Arion Stereo Chorus from the 80's I would like to get working again. If I use a battery in the pedal, the led lights up but there is barely any volume when played thru. You can just faintly hear the effect working in the background. Same when I use power from my pedal board. The only difference is the led only lights very dimly when using pedal power.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

hi; first of all, you would probably get more response by posting to free stomp boxes or similar forum. Also, it could be something simple like a bad capacitor in the signal chain or a loose solder joint. You could try tracing the signal with a simple signal trace probe and 'listening' amp. If you search this forum in tech tools (I think) you will find a description of what to make and how to use it with pictures.

good luck,   :icon_biggrin:

Since there seems to be a difference between battery and adapter supplies, my first guess would be that the contacts in the adapter jack are starting to give out and needs to be replace.  Either that, or the CD4027 needs to be replaced.
