Hi... Has anybody tried putting a 5f2a into a Champ chassis? The boards are the same and Mojotone has a dual stacked concentric 1Ma pot that could be used for vol & tone. I'm just not sure if it would all fit in the Champ chassis. Seems like the 5f1 is a tight fit in the Champ chassis anyway and the dual pot might be too big to stuff in.
Thanks

Even if the dual pot would fit where would you put the on/off switch? This might be more doable if you drop one of the input jacks and put the tone control in that hole.

Yes, that could work... If there is enough space to fit the pot by the inputs.... Could you move the fuse to the back and put the on/off switch at the fuse, then the double pot? The double pot from mojo looks pretty deep.. About the depth of two pots (duh!) not sure if there is enough clearance to the board, or where the double pot will be in relationship to the board.... In font of the power caps would be bad...
Guess I need to do a mock up to confirm... Just wasn't sure if anybody else had tried...
Anybody got a pic of the insides of a filled standard 5F1 chassis?

I would think the double pot would not protrude into the chassis any deeper than the pot with the on/off switch. It will probably work if you use a flypaper eyelet board mounted flat to the chassis rather than a fiberglass board that sits on standoffs. Use small filter caps.
Here's a pic from mojo...

Thanks Steve..
The pic is a great help. And I understand what you are saying about the lower board and clearance. Boy that chassis is stuffed! I'm doing this amp for a friends young daughter for her birthday. I wanted to do something a little nicer than a Champ, but it needs to be small, since she is very petite.
Thanks for you help!
