Title: Hoffman 5F2A chassis for 2 Stroke Combo??
Post by: NotSure on June 20, 2015, 12:46:51 pm
Does anyone know if the Hoffman Tweed Princeton 5F2A chassis will work for Dave Hunter's 2 Stroke combo described in "The Guitar Amp Handbook"? I've heard 1 hole to punch, for one of the tube sockets? Thanks,Dave

Welcome!

Yes. He list a Fender Princeton 'type' chassis, which they're are several different models, but looking at the pictures in his book it looks like 5F2A chassis.

So you will need to punch another octal socket hole and a second speaker jack hole along with a hole or 2 for added switches.

Hunters book has a whole chapter on the amp build with lots of info on it that might be worth the price if your going to build the amp. I like the book overall as a get the basics book. Nice pictures of some classic amps and some new brands. Several clear pics of his build too. Nice interview section last chapter with Ken Fisher, Dr. Z and more new builders.
