Title: Princeton to 6L6 from 6V6..from AO-39
Post by: Skip Hagey on July 20, 2015, 02:34:42 pm
Just got another AO-39 and interested in building a Princeton 5F2A but using a 6L6 instead of the 6V6. I'm sure it's do-able but does anyone have experience or even a schematic of such a thing?  It would also be nice to use any of the octal power tubes, 6V6, 6L6, EL34 etc.

5F2A is a single ended amp. AO-39 is a push/pull amp. Really not a good candidate. You would definitely need a different OT.

OK, so I've done your Marshall 18, what would you suggest? Eventually I'd love to do a stand-alone reverb but I don't think this chassis would be good for that...  I'm still a novice so something not to intricate?

I like the AC-15 lite better than the 18W lite.
