Title: Low Budget Plexi Tone Suggestions
Post by: HighFlyingV on September 20, 2015, 07:04:44 pm
I was going to tag on to an older post but this is a bit different than the thread that lead me to this cool forum.
I am just putting this out to get a little feedback. My opinion is I am not quite ready to build a low watt plexi just yet but modding an inexpensive donor would be less trouble and expense.
I can get a Carvin MTS 3200 pretty cheap and I heard on with all of clipping diodes removed , he said he balanced the pre-amp stages ? Also moved the tone stack to the end of the stage as a marshall ?
I hope it's ok to post a clip

Well done! That clip has a LOT of feedback. I bet it's plenty loud too!   :icon_biggrin:

BTW, Welcome to the forum.

I guess that is something I didn't notice is the volume . The original Marshall Plexi's from what I hear are quite loud to achieve "the tone"
This Carvin is stock , I think I could live with it stock.
