So I have been looking around for info about getting specs on an output transformer but I'm still pretty fuzzy on the details. Basically, I replaced an OT on my Fender Bantam Bass with a bigger one years ago. The Bantam Bass is a 30-40 watt 6L6 amp but the OT always seemed wimpy for use with guitar. I know that it was built to run 8 ohm loads but the transformer number (Schumacher 121848) is not in the standard list of Fender trannys so I can't find info on C.T. or anything. I would like to possibly use it in a future build of some sort but I'm not sure how. Can I built a 6V6 amp like a TweedDeluxe? Or could I use it for a D'Mars? Maybe a Stout? What else do I need to know?

If it "seemed wimpy" with 6L6, it will seem wimpier with 6V6.
Until you get down to silly-low B+ voltage. What you maybe want is a 280V 2*6L6 amp, though that may not be worthwhile.

Thank you for the reply. When I say wimpy that may be an unfair statement. When I swapped the OT I was playing in a band with another guitar player and my volume and tone seemed to get overpowered. He was playing a Matchless SC30 or a Bad Cat at the time. This amp was pretty loud but I think the design and cheapness of Fender builds at the time (and this was an early CBS attempt at an open back bass amp) made this seem deficient.
