Post by: EL34 on October 30, 2015, 09:03:20 am
I still have leaves here at my house
The colors are fading to brown, but still some colors on the trees

My wife just got back from a 5 day trip to Franklin last night. First time she had been in the area during the fall. She loved the colors!

I will be leaving shortly to head back to my house in Franklin.  Last week we took a long MC ride over the Blue Ridge PKWY from the beginning at Cherokee, but I jumped off at HWY 215 to go to the Apple Festival in Wayensville.  Beautiful area.

Couple of wkends ago,  my beautiful wife and I drove the BlueRidge Parkway also!  Not my photos, but it looked like this.

The road is where many of the Buick car commercials were filmed for years.  The waterfall is Linville Falls.

Takes us about 2 hrs to drive up there.

With respect, Tubenit

Stone mountain?  If so, I've hiked that a couple of times. Fun hike.  Really beautiful picture.  Nice job with the photography.  Thanks for sharing.  Jeff

Not Stone Mountain, I believe it is called Looking Glass Rock.  Great place for Spring Hiking as you have the opportunity to take a long slide down a natural water slide.  I have hiked the waterfall side to the top, but I was a tad younger then.  I am sure I could still do it, but I now prefer to climb the gradual slopes up.

Great Weekend, but I believe it is the last of the nice colors as the rain is bring down the rest of the leaves.  I like winter, but the Blue Ridge Parkway is closed a lot.

looking Glass and Stone Mtn are some of the BEST east coast climbing you'll find.  When I did Stone Mtn, the *easy* routes had 80' runouts!!!  carry a change of underwear!  But the views, just no words for it!  Glad you got such a great backyard!

Years ago I was a great fan of those colors and in autumn and winter my clothes were often of those colors
