Title: So...I bought my first tube tester. B k 600 Dyna quik
Post by: highlux on October 31, 2015, 01:49:00 pm
So...I have been looking.  I know B K is a good brand.  I know the 700 series is the mac daddy.  But from what I understand....this is useful for tube amps.

I'm not gonna just stick a tube in it and play Professor science kit....so...where do I start? Anyone know a good resource for info?  I will search in the mean time...
How will this be useful?

Thanks in Advance.   I will get some pictures up here after I finish a snack...lol.

It works!!   lubes up the monetary switches just cause they were a little sticky....but otherwise it works...and the booklet makes it a no brainier.

Please note,
Some tube vendors will not allow a tube return if tested or placed in an amp.

Who? How would they know?

Thats good to know.   I will use is diagnostically only....to test for dead tubes.  Pretty much it.   Baby steps

It did test some bad tunes today...and even caught a short in one.  Im convinced its working for my needs at least.

Im going to leanr everything I can about it and other testers.  I will get one of the best machines at some point.
My guitar cnc is priority.

Yes, but clarify the language: Doug did not say what DrGonzo cited; he said he would not accept a tube return based on the results of a customer's tube tester (because all tube testers are at least subject to interpretation).

I still submit the vendor can't know if a customer put the tube in a tester or an amp (barring extreme abuse by the customer), so if they have a valid complaint of non-functionality rather than "My tester shows this tube is 67% new" then the whole thing is a non-issue.

Agreed.
