Title: Bsiab2 extra distortion mod.
Post by: FranciscoPerez on November 12, 2015, 05:02:07 am
Hi guys,
I recently built this circuit and really like the result.

However, I'll be giving the pedal to a friend as a present, and he said he usually plays trash metal (whatever that is). He'd probably need more distortion out of the pedal, and thought I could maybe add another gain stage somewhere , to push the circuit into heavier distortion.

I'm not really experienced with solid-state effects, and don't know what would be the best approach. Any ideas??
It'd be great to make the mod switchable, in case he wants to use the effect in its stock form.

Could adding a simple switchable J201/2N5457 gain stage at the beginning of the circuit be a good idea?

Thank you!!!
