Title: Allied 365 / Pioneer SX1000TX
Post by: Ed_Chambley on November 17, 2015, 09:07:53 am
I have an Allied 365 (1968-1969) receiver which was made in Japan and is the same as the Pioneer SX1000TX (Schematic Attached) I have used for years but have noticed is beginning to request some service.  Everything on the receiver and inputs especially the phono stage(s) are working great.  I have a main filter cap just beginning to leak.

My question is since I will be replacing the electrolytics and doing a general service cleanup, is there any other things that would be good to upgrade, replace?

I'm of the adage "leave sleeping dogs lay".  most of the schematic is "black-boxed" if they are sealed metal units then leave 'em.  good visual will usually give you an indication, browned areas, dust/gunk etc.  If the transistors are soldered leave em, if they are screwed to sockets and the thermal grease is cracked n dry - maybe, same with mica isolators.
Good bath in contact cleaner and you're probably good.
