Hi guys, This is another little gem from downunder.
Bit of info here http://www.ozvalveamps.org/rex.htm (http://www.ozvalveamps.org/rex.htm)
Not much to this one and it is in good condition with a few replacement resistors and valve socket for the EL84.
I had a few CC resistors and a vintage socket to replace the Belton used.
I also added a fuse for safety.
Took some voltage readings and these seemed OK.
But the screen voltage is a bit higher than the plate on the EL84, This doesn't look right to me???

sometimes in it is. though more prevalent in SE amps with high Z OT primary. the V drop across the OT primary is greater than the V drop from node A to node B. nothing to worry about.

Thanks DL, I thought there may have been a short in the OT.
This vintage (around 1960) would have had a 15ohm speaker but this had an 8ohm speaker, so I was thinking some damage was done to the OT. Thanks

Hi guys, A mate has given me a couple of 15ohm speakers to try.
With the 15ohm speaker in place there is way less distortion and better overall sound.
With the volume down "3" quite loud with clarity and some breakup, move up to "7" we have a mini Marshall.
I was never really into small SE amps, but this thing rocks :guitar1
I can't believe how loud this is.
There is a jack plate that was already on the back panel, so I have added a EXT socket.
I was also surprised how QUIET it is as the CC resistors are usually noisy and they were very close to spec.

Some more :icon_biggrin:
