Hello,
I have a guitar with a regular single coil pickup and a unity gain buffer connected to a 9v battery. The idea is to provide a low impedance signal out of the guitar but I don't have the specs nor do I know how to measure the actual impedance. The buffer has a trim pot, so it may not be set to exactly unity.
Would you make any changes to the amplifier to provide a better interface for this guitar?

No.
The amp doesn't need to be anything special to accept input from a low impedance pickup/buffer. The buffer is all about reducing the impact of cable capacitance on the sound/operation of the pickup, and not really anything to do with the amp, either.

I don't know about the buffer business
I would either buy a low impedance pickup or buy a kit similar to the one you have in your guitar and wind up your own
Most of my guitars are equipped with hilotrons(which is a low impedance single coil) and they sound lovely, maybe best for cleans but they can rock too.
I just recently finished rewinding a couple that were hopped and if you're careful and do a bit of research it's not too hard
To measure the pickups impedance(Dc resitance actually, close enough) measure the resistance across it's leads with a multimeter
Hilotrons are 3-3.4K
I think most strat pickups are around 7 k
P-90s are higher even (if I remember correctly)
etc etc)
