Hello everyone at the Hoffman Amp Forum :guitar1 I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
This post is to everyone in the forum. I've got a set of Mercury Magnetics Marshall 50 watt trannies and a 4x12 Avatar cabinet with vintage 30s sitting around collecting dust and I am going to have some time on my hands in the next few weeks to build amplifiers. Along with some amps for my studio (finally going to build Steve's Marshall style AC15) I thought it would be a good idea to build a Marshall Head to go with the cabinet and trannies. Since I don't perform, this amp and cabinet will be for sale to a local player and I want it to have really nice Marshall clean tone and a high gain Marshall tone via either a footswitch/relay or a second high gain channel which would allow switching between channels with an A/B switch. I'm envisioning a player's rig that can use classic pedals and be an amplifier to die for to a top 40 or classic blues rock band guitarist. I would really appreciate any and all suggestions of the classic circuits out there which would deliver this tone scenario. I thank everyone in advance for your time and insight.

Barry,
Nice to see you on the forum! It's been awhile.
Sluckey drew up a JCM800 & Plexi 50w schematic some time back and I simply added an FX loop to it that is similar to what I use on my D'Mars. The loop works quite well with no issues and is simply the return section of the D'Lator loop.
The Plexi would give you a nice clean and the JCM800 would give you the higher gain setting.
Not sure you would need the 1M master volume after the tone stack? I am thinking the 250ka send pot would be sufficient as it is on my D'Mars.
With respect, Tubenit
