Thanks! I think that was done around 1995 on a Tascam 424 four track recorder. Hard to believe 20 years ago.
Never ever considered myself a singer because I well know what a real singer can do but do my best with what the Lord gave me  :icon_biggrin:

Some folks probably don't take it well with me messing(re-wording it) with this song but I wanted to continue to do it but with a Christian message so I could do it at Church plus get down to the real meaning of Christmas. So I usually do it every year at Church and folks are blessed by it, so that's good enough for me. Platefire

I think it would be a special blessing to see you do that in person. Keep up the good work. Don't ever put it in Standby!

Wow you just continue to amaze me with what you did on that old 424! :worthy1:  What a great job on that song and the Lord gave you some fine pipes to sing it with!  Thank you for sharing!

Very clean recording.
What was your setup?
Sorry if already mentioned and if I missed it.

And talented...
If you ever visit SoCal stop by the Saddleback Church Sat Men's group and lead a song with us.

BTW - we have a zoom group for remote joining as well.
LMK if anyone would like to check it out.

Blessings,
Steve

Hay Thanks sluckey and scstill
Every year I think, I'm not going to reemphasize that song again but then I think way more important than anything I did, it's the Message that changed my life and I will ever more lift up the name of Jesus
scstill, thanks for the invite to your Church even though I doubt I will ever make it out to California. To answer your question on the recording, it was done on a Tascam 424 four track cassette in 1995. I created a backup track that included the drums, bass, piano on a Yamaha Keyboard on track 1, think I added strings track 2, rhythm and lead guitar on track 3 and vocals on track 4. Used an ART SGX LT Effects processor to add reverb and a dbx Project 1 compressor to level things out. God Bless, Bob (Platefire)
