I'm back! Thanks to a good hearted forum member. :occasion14: Hopefully it's all as it was except that I've added my AO-63 conversion project. It's even faster than the Comcast server too.
Here's the new address... http://sluckeyamps.com/ (http://sluckeyamps.com/)
I'll include the site in my personal info as well. I'll move this message to the "Other" section in a few days.

There is a wealth of great ideas and creativity and info there! THANK you! Very generous of you to share it with us!

Thats great news

Thank you Sluckey for sharing all your cool toys. I am liking me some Tweed Deluxe Reverb! Might have to build one myself
-
Good to see you back Steve!
-
What happened?
I guess I missed it
Did comcast delete your old web site?
-
Comcast deleted all personal websites about two months ago.
-
Awesome!
-
Congratulations!
i'm going to go check it out
-
Thank you Steve. One of the best sites there is for guys like us.
-
I looked! Great amp projects there. One that I keep thinking about after I left the site was that old vintage Ampeg cab/amp re-purpose. It just looks different in a cool kind of way. Platefire
-
The Ampeg cab is on of my favorites. Sometimes I get to thinking about actually putting an Ampeg amp in it. :icon_biggrin:

Oh excellent, glad you got it up and going again!

Your website is better than ever. Com**** appears to messing with a lot their customers. I am glad you found an option.
-
Does anyone know of any videos /audios showing the SLuckey 18W amp (November?) or similar, to hear the difference between EL84 cathode vs. grid bias, yes NFB/no NFB, etc?
I'd like a friend to hear some of that before convincing him he 'needs' some of those features. He's half-day there... :@)
Thanks
Murray

Tired of the little anemic amps, people making fun of him, questioning his manhood, not being heard above the adult amps in the room, and having sand kicked in his face at the beach - Sluckey decided he needed to re-invent himself. So after a quick google search, Steve is heading in a new direction. His search for "how to build a mans man amp", has given him new ideas and he is building again. Recently unclassified photos reveal his latest project.
I do not divulge my sources, but Silvergun swears this is true....

That's old news. I'm really an airline pilot. Move over Sully!

Steve has been seen wandering aimlessly in the woods until he reached his revelation.

Has he finally seen the light?!?!?!

What is wrong with you?
Sluckey would NEVER wear that stupid looking hat!
We all know that the lineup of 88s is the heating element on his chicken rotisserie.
I learned so much from his website that I prepared for this day by downloading all of those priceless pdfs onto thumb drives so I can sell em on ebay.
I still think that if he sold ad space on his site it would at least pay for his beer.
I would be curious to know the traffic #s. I'll bet there are waaaaayyy more people Google'ing sluckey than #old-ass-washed-up-Blackmore.

all of those priceless pdfs onto thumb drives
ha
one of my drives decided to convert everything back to random 1's n 0's :think1:
all the scope shots of all my builds POOF
I am looking forward to his chicken though :icon_biggrin:

Steve's intentionally shut it down. He mentioned something about it on ampgarage. he's bored of all my scheetts :D

You could use this; https://web.archive.org/web/20180809063515/http://sluckeyamps.com/

A customer emailed me and was asking
So Steve does not have a web site now?
-
That's correct. I took it down. You can still find bits and pieces via the wayback machine.

If you want a home for all your amp content, I can upload it to my server and you could link people to it here?
Unless you don't want to be bothered by people asking you about all your stuff?
-
Unless you don't want to be bothered by people
they can be problematic :icon_biggrin:
-
Thanks for the offer Doug. One of the generous members provided that website with domain name and FTP access several years ago when Comcast dropped my personal web pages. But now I find my attention shifting so I'm taking a lower profile with amps. (Hopefully with a softer voice too! :icon_biggrin: ) Still planning to stick around the forum. Once you slap that tar baby it ain't easy to get free. Got tar in my blood now. :l2:
-
So Steve,
I’ve got like a million questions about the amps you had posted on your site. When would be a good day for me to call and we can go over them? Actually, make that days, I talk slow and write slower. You can PM me your phone number and address as I may just stop by. I promise not to post it here or any other sites.... No really. Really. I’m serious. Don’t ignore me Steve! Geez I can’t undestand why you would take it down in the first place.

naw, it's atrophy with cosmetic surgery :icon_biggrin:
-
Nope. It's the Twilight Zone!
-
Ok Steve,
How about all your content on my web site without your name attached?
I can scrub your name from all the pages
-
Yeah I reference Sluckey's site like 10,000 times every time I start building something.
-
I went on the wayback machine and downloaded the PDF for any projects I thought I might be interested in building in the future.
-
All my amp project documents are now available via a simple file list.
http://sluckeyamps.com/
-
The link does this :)
Never seen a server message like that before.
It should say this
Inconceivable!
-
What browser are you using? Looks like it doesn't recognize index.htm as the DEFAULT page when just the domain name is used. IE, Chrome, and my cell phone browser can all see the site. Try this instead...

There goes my lucrative ebay sales!

> What browser are you using? Looks like it doesn't recognize index.htm as the DEFAULT page when just the domain name is used.
It is not the browser's job to guess what file when only the server or a folder is given.
Back a decade ago I know the Xitami and Apache configs. Somewhere was a list of files to return if the URL pointed to a directory. It appears that Apache has spiffed this up past my comprehension, but you can still set it.
Apache: # Example A: Set index.html as an index page, then add index.php to that list as well.
<Directory "/foo">
DirectoryIndex index.html
DirectoryIndex index.php
</Directory>
Xitami, xitami.cfg:
Default: default1=index.htm default2=default.htm
That's if you work bare-butt on the server console. Getting hosting from a Big Name you may not have access to config files. In past I just tried all four likely variations index.htm index.html default.htm default.html to see which copy I got.
FWIW, just "http://sluckeyamps.com/" works fine for me. And is VERY much appreciated.

Ha! That's a real error, a 406.
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/406
But "In practice, this error is very rarely used." Most servers throw it away and return "something" to the browser. Maybe a glitch in your browser or very-likely in Sluckey's web-host.

Home phone and address? :dontknow:

You're Jenny right?

It is not the browser's job to guess what file when only the server or a folder is given.
Exactly. It's the server's job. So, how do you explain the fact that this particular server will give up an index.htm file as a default for me and you and many others, but pukes an error message when Doug tries to access the link? BTW, I changed the file name from index.htm to index.html and the original link I posted now works fine for Doug. Weird!

~Phil
Right. I name Jenny. You put 1-900 before that phone number and I love you long time.
-
Steve, I downloaded all your pdf files as backup
-
Good idea. If you want to make them available on your site that's fine too.
-
So glad the project documentation is back! I did not notice this thread and had replied to a thread regarding the Lightning build:
Thankfully, some time ago I downloaded most of Sluckey's schematics/layouts. But I really enjoy the website. One of the best for clarity of methods, etc. I had built or rebuilt 50+ amps by the time I saw Sluckey's site, but I ended up learning great stuff. The Visio sketches are impeccable. The Smokey project is a hoot. The wayback machine will get you some, but not all of it.
So Sluckey, is it coming back? I feel like the kid in the old Pepsi ad; say it ain't so Mean Joe.
Expensive to keep a site going - Go Fund Me? I'm in.
So again - thanks. I and others will miss the commentary and the photos. So if you want to bring those back, I'd be happy to support.
-
I put all the Sluckey files in the library here

Good idea. If you want to make them available on your site that's fine too.
How about your scrap book too? :undecided:
Great info in there too.
-
I got that
-
Scrap book is included. My visio shape files should also be included. But since it's a zip file rather than a pdf, maybe Doug's automatic file listing code doesn't pick it up? Anyhow, it's on my site.
-
I can add the visio file also
-
Some of you may know that my website has been down for a few months. During this time I've often needed to refer to info on my website. So, the website is back! Same ole info, same ole address...
http://sluckeyamps.com/index.htm
-
ah the one with pictures
had to go back n forth a couple times to figure out .htm .html, they're both marked - thanks
-
I went looking for the Bandmaster Trem-O-Nator info and couldn't find it easily. I wound up going back through the "More tremolo" thread and picked out the PDF from the Bandmaster conversion.
I think this would make a cool addition to the site. (unless of course it's already there and I missed it).
I know I'll be making reference to it at some point. Especially since you got me sitting on a VTL5C1.
Thanks again for all you have done and continue to do in 2020.
I know,,,,you've had it back up for less than a day and already some jackass is asking you to do more work :icon_biggrin:
-
You can find my more complete "bandmaster" document in the sluckey folder in Hoffman's Schematic Library. Link at the bottom of this page.
I do intend to include the bandmaster on my website and I will update the amp scrapbook to include the Trem-O-Nator. Working on it right now... :icon_biggrin:
