Title: An interesting twist
Post by: TIMBO on December 23, 2015, 04:09:32 am
Hi guys, This has tweaked my interest............
http://www.ozvalveamps.org/maxim/maxim_chassis_undersk.jpg (http://www.ozvalveamps.org/maxim/maxim_chassis_undersk.jpg)

Thinking that there is a bit of Marshall Major in its roots and I have some hardware looking for a build.
There is little info with this amp, so there may be a similar circuit floating around out in cyber schematic land.

I can't say I have had the pleasure of doing this dance but my wife danced with him in the early 80's

I was able to jag a copy of the Maxim amp, this is a bit different to the one featured on Ozvalves.

Never saw a tremolo circuit that diddled a pentode's screen grid before but why not?

That's an interesting circuit.

I've never been a great or passionate dancer, but I had that pleasure

TIMBO I see something that I don't understand on the schematic you posted, the junction between channel 1 and 2 done after the 100k resistors and before the 330p and .047uf caps (???)

Hi K,
I think the idea behind that is the original amp http://rickveneer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Maxim-3S.jpg (http://rickveneer.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Maxim-3S.jpg) has two inputs
One input would have a three position rotary sw. that would give you HI/LO/BOTH on the tremolo channel and the other input for the other channel

I see, that has sense

Hi K, I'm wrong!!!!!
That rotary sw is for the bright caps on the volume pot.
I think it's just a way to have a HI/LO input.  :icon_biggrin:

Mmmmmm ????? ....

Yes, the jumper (on the schematic) is only to connect the signal of each input to both the Tone Controls
