So, my TMB is motorboating, but all the PS caps seem fine (ESR well within spec, etc.), and if I push on the V1 heater wires, it stops completely. So is it just me, or is this something other than every suggestion I've seen about the decoupling caps? I'm thinking I'll rewire the heaters (they're not twisted very tight), and see if that does the trick.

put one more temporary cap , like 20uF, to feed V1 and see what will happen. If this doesn't solve the prob, replace V1, put a 50uF right out of the power tranny, in parallel with the reservoir cap without exceeding recto tube specs if there is one, and make sure all the gnds are tight
