Title: princeton reverb AA1164 new build
Post by: khansen810 on January 12, 2016, 10:25:59 am
Just finished building this amp using the Hoffman turret board. Everything is working properly and sounds great. I do having the following problem. Powered with no input (input shorted) and the volume set at about 3 or higher and all the other controls set to 0 except for the volume. When you turn up the reverb pot (reverb turned off) there is an increase in the hum. Not sure what's causing this and if there is a solution. Maybe this is normal? Much appreciated.

Not normal I don't think.

Pull that chassis and check every single component value and triple check your wiring first and foremost.  Each and every time I have issues on a new build it turns out to be me!

Good luck and I think we would all like to see some guy shots of your amp

Here's a great way to double check a new build, click on the link at the very bottom of my reply.   :icon_biggrin:
