Hello amp guru's, I am going to build this little amp for my grandson and need to know what size and model power and output transformers to use on this build. Maybe Hammond 270FX on the power side? any help will be greatly appreciated! :w2: The schematic is on this site. EZ81 tube rectifier. 2- 12AX7's for the preamp and vibrato. 2-EL84's for the power section. Hope everyone is doing well, keep building tube amps !

Lot's of choices. Hoffman's Heyboer 18 watt Output and Power transformer is a good choice. I used a Hammond 270FX and 1650F for my AC-15. And I converted a Hammond AO-39 to an AC-15 lite. You can usually pick up an AO-39 with no tubes on eBay for less than the cost of the power transformer.

Thank You Sluckey for the input, I really appreciate this. I did build your Ampeg clone last year, it is a great sounding amp.

Did you ever get the volume to come up on the Ampeg?

The volume on the Ampeg is still very low, however I am still checking components. I thought about making another board and install it. I haven't hooked a tone generator to it yet. Any other ideas? Thanks,Steve for asking.
