I started my build. I was planning on logging my progress on this board, but then I thought it might be better to create an actual blog to document the build. This way, I can post plenty of pictures without worrying about their size. However, I will post progress here as well so people can see how things are going.
I've already wired up the board. I started with the jumpers on the top of the board.

Then I wired the jumpers underneath the board. I used push-back cloth covered wire.

I was wondering if anyone else was gonna tackle this project. Good start. Looking forward to following along. I think you'll like this amp.
I put a different jump switch mod in my amp last summer. It only has one input jack and one mini 3-position toggle switch. If this is something you may be interested in I can put this circuit in the mods pdf on my website.

I decided to have a single input with the channels permanently bridged. I will use the volume controls to "switch" channels if I need to. That is, turn EF86 all the way down if I don't want to hear it. Turn the 12AX7 down if I don't want to hear that channel. I tend to set and forget, so I don't expect this to be an issue for me.
I started drilling the chassis this weekend. I have the sockets installed and will start on wiring the heaters this week some time.

By the way, here are some shots of the board for those who like looking at pictures (like me).

I started working on the chassis. Started out by drilling pilot holes then I used step bit to make them the right size.

When I got done with the round holes I started on the rectangular hole for the IEC jack.

Looking good, turret board and chassis! :icon_biggrin:
How did you cut your IEC hole? You did a great job on that.

I started with a drill, then went to a dremel tool, then I finished with a metal file. It was a pain.
If you click on the link in my signature you can read more details and pictures.

Ok, that's how I cut mine, except I only dill 4 holes, 1 in each corner.
Thanks. :icon_biggrin:

Not much progress, but a little bit at a time... I got the sockets and standoffs installed last night.

i had a freak mac n cheese accident today and now i have 3 stitches in the tendon of the middle finger on my right hand. No amp building for 6 weeks. :-(

Very sorry to hear that. Listen to the doctors, you want that tendon to heal fully.
