Title: The Champ is Done...mostly.
Post by: ratgon on February 12, 2016, 09:43:24 pm
Well. I took all your advice and settled down, focused and just checked everything over, cleaned up some of the wiring, found I'd missed an OT lead to the 6V6 and viola! She fired right up! Sounds amazing but it's easily as loud as the Marshall clone kit it's borrowing a speaker from.Great tone tho. This is actually I've ever played anything remotely "tweed". Ok, so 5E3 is next,

Thanks again for all your help.

Oh yeah, I'm still using the choke that I replaced one of the rail resistors that had started smoking earlier this week. It's "R14" on the layout and it has a note telling the builder to use the choke if building the board as a straight up 5E. Has anyone else had to do this?

Nice!

I knew you could get a Champ to make it around the track.   :icon_biggrin:

They always sound better to me when I know I made them work.   :l2:
