I found these while walking past the crafting aisle at WalMart. They in fact work exactly as they claim, makes a perfect loop to fit different size posts. I tried it on one of Doug's tall turrets and its perfect. Slip the end of the wire between the jaws at the diameter you need and one half twist, you have a perfect loop.

Round-nose pliers.
Really for making chain-mail armor. Now popular with crafters and jewelry-workers for wire-bending.
Maybe the only kind of plier I don't have. Maybe I should.

I see the "needle" part looks a bit more stout on this one. The one I have has that translucent soft plastic. Time will tell, if they start to wear and disfigure then I will upgrade to these. Thanks !!

It seems the plastic is for non-marring. Probably will wear OK for lead wires.
