Title: korina Explorer XPL home built
Post by: kingplank on February 21, 2016, 08:39:53 am
This is a 85% size Explore XPL, to replace my hone built Firebird which was very uncomfortable to use(body shape looks cool though).

Found a sale piece of white limba at a local wood store. Thought I could never find this in Canada.

This guitar is bult Fender style, with a Wizardized Ibanez neck. This is actually a very well designed neck but poorly painted. I shaved nearly 2mm off at first fret, 1.5mm at 12th. Installed metal thread inserts for the neck bolts. A very difficult machining process.

The body is chambered moderately. Weighs in at 3 lbs even. I like light guitars

Will post more pictures later

Edges filleted, body contour added(not on the original XPL)
