Title: 6G15 Reverb Control Layout
Post by: tdvt on February 24, 2016, 08:02:34 am
Going over a few of the classic, both schematics & layouts, and I am wondering if there are any insights or opinions on the odd layout of the input/output & controls on the Fender 6G15 reverb unit?

The layout on the amps seems much more linear/logical. Am I missing something regarding noise, etc.?

My guess is the input jack to the reverb tank is where it is due to the placement of the reverb driver transformer. If you look on the layout the blue and red wires come out of the reverb driver (you can't see it because it would be bolted on the other side of the chassis) and go to pin 3 of the 6K6 and to power.  The wire that says black and the other wire that doesn't have a color (green) would also be coming from the reverb driver. The output jack is where it is because it feeds the grid of preamp tube 1a. The other wires are placed so there is minimal crossing of wires and they can be as short as possible.

Thanks
