Here is a 69 Bassman rebuild I am messing around with for a customer. It had a very sick PT so soon as the new one shows I will finish it up. I am using Doug's G10 eyelet board and man I love those things. If you haven't tried one I think you should give one a try.

Nasty looking PT. :w2:
Where did you get all the yellow Mallorie 150's?
-
Yellow Mallorys came from Doug

Yeah, that PT looks like an excellent candidate for Burnt Transformerfest 2016. Wow!

If I was going to have it rewound where would I send it? Heyboer perhaps? Is it worth it?
-
You'll have to get a quote. I can't imagine it being worth it; for them to set up a one-off has got to be time consuming and the tranny itself is certainly nothing special. In a transformer, the laminations actually have to be insulated from each other. So while I am sure that Heyboer (for one, surely there are other rewind svces) knows very well what they are doing, I myself would kind of be concerned that a tranny whose innards were soaked in smoke with perhaps some charring might not be able to be successfully rewound. They'd have to take the tranny apart clean, then coat the lams with a new insulating coating. Tedious.
I'm sure Heyboer will gladly give you a quote but my bet is that it would be double what a new generic replacement would cost and I'd bet they'd say the same. Free to enquire, though.

Agree.

Yeah, I have never sent one out before so I didn't know what to expect. I have heard of people rewinding transformers but I have zero personal experience.

This is done and ready to go out now. I really just love Bassmans

Hi and thx. As far as the Bassman goes I do prefer the sound of the AA864. It feels more chimey and transparent to my ears. A lot of the bigshot session guys in town prefer it as well and I trust their ears over mine.

Which channel are you guys playing through, normal or bass?
