Title: Another Tone Stack Question
Post by: Gone_Fishing on March 05, 2016, 02:35:00 pm

I've been tweaking my Bassman Ten (Twin Reverb OP tranny,,,6550's).  Without changing the first channel circuit ("T" filter), how can I make this channel less bright/treblely?  I like the "narley" tone but it's too bright.  I've increased the value of all caps, except the the .022's on the bass pot, but this doesn't seem to change things much.  Reducing the 270K resistor to 100K seemed to help the most. The Treble pot is almost like a second volume now.  Thanks in advance. Eual

Sometimes "too much Treble" has nothing to do with the Treble control itself. I believe mostly you're just changing what frequency the Treble pot controls when you make the parts-changes you mentioned.

Are you using the Deep switch on that channel? Does the amp sound better with it?
