Hey.
As stated in other threads, I'm building a princeton reverb into an old stage line ga-1240r solid state cab/chassis.
The 12" speaker that was in it didn't really sound that good, and right now I've put a G12-65 celestion in it, that my brother dumped on me.
However, for future upgrade, I wonder what YOUR personal favourite 12" speaker might be, in a princeton reverb amp?
Regards
Anders

I like the WGS ET65 or Retro30.

I've got an Altec 417-8h in my Deluxe Reverb, wonderful tone, it may not fit in a PR cabinet. If you find one you'll have to carefully check the relationship between the PRs transformers and the magnet assembly of the Altec.

For ferro magnet in 25W-ish, I like a Greenback G12M
or, for an Alnico magnet in similar power, a Weber 12A125A

+ 1 love altec 417 and jbl. Pricy tho. I have a greenback which does breakup easier if you are wanting that. It mostly has to do with the tone you want.

Also +1 on the Altec 417 but I would almost guarantee you'd have to redrill the baffle board; unless the holes came out just right. Altecs (at least the 417) is a deep deep spider and will probably interfere with something or other.

I have built and sold quite a few PR and 12" D120F orange JBLs have been requested time and time again. I have the same setup and I personally love it. I have played them with Golds, and Warehouse speakers too and all sounded nice.

The reissue Jensen C10Q is actually pretty good in this amp. Yes, speaker choice is about the voice you want for the amp. However, it was my experience after having a '67 Princeton Reverb that the reissue version sounded quite close to the original speaker.
At the time I tried them (late 90's), the same couldn't be said for the reissue alnico Jensen speakers. I haven't tried either since that time, so I don't know if things have changed.
