Here's a quick one. I live in Redmond, WA, right across the lake from Seattle. Redmond is beautiful, but not like Seattle, so I'll just post a pic of Seattle :)

I don't live in a city, or town, or even unincorporated village. I'm 7 miles from gas, or car parts, 15 miles from a grocery store, or the big box places., but here's a couple pics of *where* I live.

My town is all woods. The only "scenic" is on a clear day, from the edge of town, you can see the next town (where the tourists go).
This image captures a little of the flavor. I've found turkey tracks 5 inches long. These are different. Like deer, but much bigger. Maybe a fat New Jersey garden deer, but our woods-deer are not big. Pretty sure it is Moose.
BTW, there are hundreds of moose in Maine but they are rarely seen. They are either in deep woods miles from any people, or their torso is just above headlight height when they cross the highway in front of your car at night.

Were in southern NM. High desert area, 15 minutes to play in the mountains at 8,700 ft. Small town Alamogordo hasn't grown since I was a child. It survives because of Holloman AFB, Ft. Bliss, and the White Sands Missile Range. Friendly people here, lots of retired folks and snowbirds.

I love your state!, my last trip there, '13 I picked a place about 90miles south of Albuquerque in the middle of nowhere desert, towns were 30 miles apart, pop 200. 5 days in the desert does a soul good!, snakes, spiders.... then moved to santa fe for art and a shower, then north to the Jemez area, great Indigenes folk there, got invited to a reservation for their local arts n crafts show!

I was there in the summer of 2013. Just an incredible amount of rainfall that summer with flash floods everywhere. I went through one town in one of those Billy the Kid type canyons that had no people, horses, or cars with a lot of debris on the road. I slowly realized that it had been evacuated and the creek had just flooded the whole place.
We didn't pass through Alamogordo. We hung a left at Soccorro and drove a big circle around it going through Roswell and Texas then back up to Silver City. Maybe next time.

I was in Belgium this last year on vacation. Truly a beautiful country. We visited Brussels, Ghent, and Bruges. I loved it!

great! sadly people seem to avoid our country recently because they think it's dangerous. more than 600 restaurants and hotels in Brussels went bankrupt in the last month or so...

Damn that sucks! That's pretty much what terrorists do, make people live in terror of the next attack (or really STOP living in terror).

Love Belgium, spent some time there in the early 80's. Some photos of my town. You have downtown and an overview and lastly through the woods from my house is a place in the Smokies called Wayah Bald which is a nice hike for an old dude like me. Beautiful places around western North Carolina.

First shot is Boise, ID. I actually live in a suburb of Boise called Meridian. Second two shots are a couple of fountains in the shopping center in Meridian. We have desert to the south and mountains to the north. World famous fishing and second only to Alaska for amount of forest.
