I'm thinking I need a DIY tool for testing dual and occasional quad opamps when the need arises in the odd tube amp repair (like the Ampeg SVT-CL).
Anyone got any circuit experiences they care to share?

I don't know of any dedicated tool for testing op amps. You could use a breadboard to build up circuits to test the chips. But as far as actual in circuit tests, I just use a scope to look at inputs, outputs, and power supply pins. A sig gen comes in handy for inserting a known repetitive signal such as sine wave.
