Title: Is this a resistor or capacitor ?
Post by: uki on July 15, 2016, 12:05:27 am
Hey guys what is this component ? Resistor or capacitor ? To me looks like a cap,  160/5  500v   what does it mean, 160 pF, k, nF, uF ?

Meter doesn't read any resistance, and I don't have a cap meter.

you could put 3-5V on it and see if an LED lights up when connected.

To me is a tube ceramic capacitor

Nice info thanks !!

It is then a 160pF 5% 500v tube ceramic cap.

Can anyone confirm if it is pF ?

All that style cap that I've ever seen was pF.
