Thinking I had an amp problem, with a little help from my friends, I'm where I need to be;
I found "the problem", (attached pic), well a problem, trip to the guitar store should fix that.
The other pic has a ground wire under the bridge?, no physical connection, just screw pressure, is that a *normal* set-up?
The last pic is the pot wiring, when I ohm'd the pot, wiper to Input (pickup), I got 2.5-125k-0. :dontknow:
Is that pot taper, or because I left the pickup attached and it's lo-ohms to ground?
Thanks

1. I found "the problem", (attached pic), well a problem, trip to the guitar store should fix that. :thumbsup:
2. The other pic has a ground wire under the bridge?, no physical connection, just screw pressure, is that a *normal* set-up? I've seen that done with Fender Bass guitars.
3. The last pic is the pot wiring, when I ohm'd the pot, wiper to Input (pickup). . . I never trust a pot or resistor reading if it's in circuit with other components.

Rookie mistake, though I blame it on the South, because everyone is running AC, all that outputted heat has forced the Jetstream to bring it up North, it was 90deg, 90%humid, my brain was frying inside my skull :icon_biggrin:
new values using ground for - wiper +, 2-125k-8.5k

So I replaced the saddle, fixed a couple iffy wires, the top bass string is still weird. the guitar has a single bridge pickup, well 2 pickups together, with only 2 wires. Can I just rotate it 180 so the coil on the top string now picks up the bottom string? Is there a *critical* distance from strings, or just personal preference?
thanks
