Title: inside the tube "cross-talk"?
Post by: shooter on August 02, 2016, 12:04:20 pm
I'm sketchin up a 2 channel pre, should I *try* to keep each channel inside each physical tube?  Is there likely to be *channel* cross-talk if I use say V1a NOR in, V1b NOT-NOR in?  Fender didn't seem to care much, but not sure if that was engineering or cost.

I don't plan on "sharing" parts like common cathode R's, etc. between tube halves.

thanks

Layout will likely be simpler if you keep each channel inside each physical tube, at least the style layouts I do would be simpler. I would not be concerned about crosstalk.

I have been studying and working hard on a 2 channel amp. Would love to see your progress.

Here's the input, 1st mix, no values, no math...yet.  haven't settled on each *node*.  I have a plexi style amp and love the bright - normal mixing, and as others have stated, they suck individually, but mix together quite well.  The *bottom* channel will have trem n verb.  each channel will continue through their own TS and recovery stage, then get mixed down before final pre-out driver.

The concept-idea is to have * a salesman sample* from days of 'old.  "oh, you like channel 1", $29.95!
It's still summer, so progress is slow, still finalizing my last build, yadeda.
Thanks for the interest.
