Title: reverb unit
Post by: EKDENTON on August 04, 2016, 04:32:00 pm
Does anyone have a good suggestion for a stand alone reverb unit? The fender 63 reverb has schematics and printed circuit board pdf. here on the schematics pages. Then i also found a 6G15 fender. Are these good builds or is there something else I might look at?

The '63 reverb is a modern reissue of the original 6G15. There are some slight circuit differences but both should perform the same. Hoffman has a layout for the 6G15 and can also supply all parts.

If you like vibrato you should consider stepping up to the Revibe. The Revibe combines the 6G15 reverb and the 6G12 Vibrato circuit. Hoffman also has a layout for this. I have one on my website too.

Okay thanks. I have one amp to fix and another to finish then i will probably try the one you have on your website. I will get the parts from Doug when i get started. Looks like a fun project.

Sluckey do you have a list of the additional parts for adding the tremolo? I didn see a parts list on your website but I found Dougs parts list for the reverb build. His plan doesnt have the tremolo, so there will be some additional parts correct?  Also which tank should i get there are two to choose from. One has two springs the other three.

I don't have a parts list. I used the three spring tank. Either tank will work but the three spring will sound better IMO.

Sounds like you looked at Hoffman's 6G15 reverb unit. Look at his Revibe unit and you will find a complete parts list (BOM).
