Title: Need Traynor YBA4 Power Transformer
Post by: plexi50 on August 08, 2016, 12:46:10 pm
Can anyone help me with info on obtaining the correct PT for the Traynor YBA4 Bassmaster amp. The attached PDF of the YBA4 Bassmaster shows a filament CT but the YBA4  i have had a power transformer with no filament CT and a pair of 100r to ground on the board. The PT is DOA so i can not get any voltage readings from the high voltage A/C leads to the rectifier diodes. The schematic does show 440 B+

plexi50   did you see the note    ?

We're looking for transformers from Traynor amps so we can offer upgrade versions.
Your original transformers may be working (or not working) when you send them in. Be the first... get the sweet deal.
If you'd like to upgrade the tone of your amp, all you have to do first is contact us Sales@MercuryMagnetics.com (sales@MercuryMagnetics.com)

AES sells two replacement PTs for the JCM900. Voltages match. Even have a separate bias winding. I have no idea if these PTs will physically fit your Traynor chassis. Take a look...

I talked with Patrick at Mercury this morning and he does not have this transformer. But he said i could send it in and they would make one for me.  I have dealt with MM quite a bit in the last few years and MM gives nothing less than stellar help and service.

If you can get a MM product for a decent price their product is very very good IMHO.
