I was looking for a Boosted LR8 PS schematic and I've find this circuit

the circuit actually is able to menage till 100mA but maybe someone here can suggest how increase the max allowable I

I couldn't determine with a tube was a npn or pnp device, Basically, I am wondering if you replace that transistor with a tube. 

I suspect you are probably better off working with mosfets.
