Title: 5f1 with dioderectifier?
Post by: Oddvar on September 04, 2016, 08:00:56 am
Hi.  Is it oke to use four 1n4007 in a circle substituting for the tube?

No. But you can use two diodes connected as a conventional full wave rectifier. Sometimes there will be two diodes in series connected to each leg of the PT just to increase PIV. In that case there will be a total of four diodes, but they will not be connected in a circle.

NO

that is a Bridge Rectifier

Full Wave Rectifier need only two diodes, despite that you can see Full Wave Rectifiers that uses four or six diodes, but that is only to increase PIV
(the PIV of each diode in series adds to the preceding diode)

Here a Full Wave Rectifier, 2 diodes or 4 diodes or 6 diodes (and may be also more, but arranged this way)
