Title: SE 6l6 question
Post by: Tone Junkie on September 12, 2016, 06:43:30 pm
So I have a B+ of 365 to 370, OT has 7K or 5K tap anyone used these and had a preference. On the spec sheet I could only find a 5K reference. Normally I would put it in and switch it around but Im trying to get it finished quick.
Thanks Bill

You would be done by now if you had been soldering rather than typing.

True LOL. but Im at work till 11:30 so just overthinking everything. Should of had it done this weekend but revoiced my marshall clone and put a resonance circuit in my train wreck. The change in the marshall circuit went excellent. The resonance circuit is coming out of the trainwreck.

With 365-370V B+ to me 5K will be better

in the datasheet of 807 you see 6K for 500V B+

and 807 is near the same with 6L6

How much power output do you want?

The data sheets I've looked at show both 5kΩ and 6.6kΩ when the plate voltage is 360v.  One tends to give more output power than the other, but the distinction may not matter to you.

You know I don't know if I would worry about output power . The one with the higher distortion ratio might be the one I would choose.
