Title: diagram or layout for tremolo mod in a blackface super reverb
Post by: stringbender.dk on October 04, 2016, 02:04:30 pm
Hi!

I asked for a couple of weeks ago how to make the intensity deeper, after the "hoffmann mod" I found here on the webside.

Some of you said it could be done by using a LED.

a tech did the LED mod. but the intensity did not get any deeper he said. but as a side effect the speaker started to move heavy in the same tempo as the tremolo and made a helicopter sound.

Is this how it should be, or do you have any diagram or layout on how to wire the tremolo mod????

Thanks, and take care

This should get you going...

EDIT... pic updated per Willabe's suggestion. Thanks.

Sluckey, maybe add the LED color and voltage/current that works best to your notes list?

Thank you very much!
I link this to the tech, and see what he finds out  :)

Size and mA of LED should not be critical. (You can't buy an LED of too low mA, and size is just bulk plastic not the actual LED chip.)

Color (actually voltage drop) is key. White drops too much. Red is an excellent bet. Green is a bit more bias but may be fine also.
