Title: SE Amp - Layout questions
Post by: kagliostro on October 26, 2016, 03:27:25 pm
I'm not able to decide where to place the Power Tube (the UX7 socket, a 1625) and transformers

If I have the Power tube in the "middle" of the amp with the tremolo oscillator on the right, is the OT placed in a good position or is it too far from the power tube ?

Is better to place the OT up to the board at the left of the toroidal PT or to move the oscillator on the "middle" of the amp and the power tube to the right ?

I'm confused, please give me your opinions

Oh, I forgot to say, the the drawn chassis is 180mm x 400mm but I can change measures as I want becouse this will be home made (instead of the initial chassis I was thinking to use that is 180mm x 345mm, too short ...)

Thanks

Franco

I would swap positions with the output tube and tremolo tube and also put the output tube circuit on the end of the board.

On my last build I put the OT on the back, it was small enough, otherwise, like Steve said.

Ciao Shooter

on the back .... do you mean on the opposite side of the faceplate ?

if so, the chassis is not high enough  :dontknow:
