Title: heater elevation and tone
Post by: 12AX7 on November 14, 2016, 11:15:38 pm
Is it possible that in elevating the heaters some 30v could affect an amp's tone in any way aside from less hum?

I've never noticed any difference in tone on the amps I've built with elevated heaters.  :dontknow:

Can you describe what sounds different?

Never heard of tone changes with elevated heaters

maybe something happens if previously your amp was in "danger" zone due to excessive voltage between cathode and heater ???

I don't know
