Title: 8 ohm cab through 4 ohm output tranny
Post by: fossilshark on November 17, 2016, 10:10:26 pm
I made a dummy. I thought my cab (in my defense the speakers were unmarked and was going off crappy meter readings when i wired them) was 4 ohms. So ive been running my amp on the 4 ohm setting. It started doing this thing where I would play for say 5 minutes (30 second on the high gain channel) and the fuse would blow. Now that im out of fuses i decided it was time to check the cab and realized it was an 8 ohm cab. Basically:

Can an 8 ohm can on a 4 ohm output transformer cause the fuse to blow? And could i have any bigger problems?

No. Yes.
