Title: Ideas for layout on JCM800 2204 combo transformers and tubes anyone?
Post by: Oddvar on November 18, 2016, 05:12:33 am
Hi again.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best way to layout the transformers, tubes and electrolytics on a Marshall JCM800 combo, one twelve inch speaker?  Up til now, on other builds, I have just put them where the place allowed, but maybe there is a better plan somewher?

Is there any real need for the bells on the power transformer?  I many of builds have it sunken into the chassis.  I am a bit worried the weight might tilt downwards if sticking out to long, since it's a combo and the chassis is secured only to the backplate?

And is the biasing on the back done in some special way, hardwarewise?
