Post by: Scsoul on November 23, 2016, 12:33:48 pm
Im working on a 2 el84 trainwrel liverpool type and have a few questions since i cant log on at amp garage,  on v1 pin 2 the wire coming from volume pot should it be a shielded wire grounded at one end? Also should i change anything in the phase inverter?  And also the input i used a grounded wire should i also use a 68k or so grid stipper?  Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mark

If V1 is a 12AX7 then pin 2 would be the input grid, so yes you can use shielded wire grounded at only 1 end.

And also the input i used a grounded wire should i also use a 68k or so grid stipper?

Could you explain what you mean by "a grounded wire"

Most guys here would use a grid stopper. I would too.

I would use a shielded wire between volume pot and V1-2. I would not change anything about the PI. I would use a wire and a 68K between input jack and V1-7.
