Title: Something I threw together using my new Suhr Reactive Load
Post by: MakerDP on December 10, 2016, 05:57:57 pm
I've always wanted to do a cover of this Larry Norman song. I just got a Suhr Reactive Load and I am LOVING it. Recording guitar tracks has never been easier or sounded better for me.

It's a rough mix... got to fix a few things here and add a couple things there... you know how it is.

Hope you enjoy it!

In case you are interested, here is the gear I used...

The amp is a homebuilt based on the Simple Preamp and 20W Push-Pull designs over at AX84.com with a few of my own tweaks here and there. Pedals on rhythm guitar track are a Soul Food into the boost-only section of a Fulldrive 3 (I LOVE that contour knob!) The Suhr RL went into my DAW (SONAR) and I used the Two Notes Wall of Sound III cabinet impulse response plugin.

Lead tracks are same amp but the comp-cut mode of the Fulldrive 3 is engaged and then that drives a home-built Zendrive pedal. I think I had a Corona Chorus and a Nova delay in there too. Reverbs for both tracks were in the DAW.

Guitar is a Carvin AE185 with their Holdsworth pickups.

Bass just a MIM Jazz Bass direct into the DAW.

Drums are Addictive Drums 2.

Cool
The riff sounds like the Kinks
